Google Phone Repair in Vancouver

Pixel Repair at 2 Walk-In Shops, With Prices You Can Check

A cracked display, a battery that no longer lasts the afternoon, a charging port that only works at one angle, or a Pixel that will not turn on at all. Those cover most of what comes through the door.

Gadget Ali repairs Pixel phones at two shops, 6551 No. 3 Road in Richmond and 935 Marine Drive in North Vancouver. Walk in during business hours, no appointment needed at either.

Pixel is the one brand where you can check our numbers. Google publishes what its own genuine parts cost, so you are not taking anyone’s word for whether a quote is reasonable. More on that below.

Pixel Watch or Pixel Tablet?

This page covers Pixel phones. Pixel Watch is on our smartwatch repair page and Pixel Tablet is on our tablet repair page, because the parts and the pricing work differently on each.

Richmond Location

North Vancouver Location

What to expect when you bring a Pixel in

We inspect the phone in front of you before quoting. Pixel displays are OLED, which means an impact can kill touch or leave a dark patch while the glass still looks intact, so what appears to be one repair is often another.

You get a clear number and a realistic time before we start. Call ahead if you have a Fold or a recently released model, since those parts are not always on the shelf and we would rather confirm than have you make the trip twice.

Which Pixel models we repair

Parts for current models are usually on hand. Older devices depend on availability, and we confirm that before you come in rather than after.

  • Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL and 11 Pro Fold
  • Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, 10 Pro Fold and 10a
  • Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold and 9a
  • Pixel 8, 8 Pro and 8a
  • Pixel 7, 7 Pro and 7a
  • Pixel 6, 6 Pro and 6a
  • Pixel 5, 5a, 4 and 4 XL
  • Older Pixel models, subject to parts availability

One thing worth knowing if you have a Pixel 6 or 6a. Google’s software support for that generation ends this year, so a large repair on one of those is worth thinking about carefully. Our guide on whether to repair or replace your phone covers how to weigh that up.

Foldables are a different job from a standard screen. The Fold models have an inner panel, an outer display and a hinge, and any of the three can fail on its own. Call ahead before travelling with one.

Google publishes what its own parts cost

Pixel is unusual. Google works with iFixit to sell genuine Pixel parts directly to customers in Canada, and it publishes free official repair manuals for its recent models. Apple does not do this. Samsung ran a similar programme and ended it.

For you that means something practical. You can look up what Google charges for the genuine display, battery or rear cover for your exact model, and use that as a reference point when anyone quotes you, including us.

It also explains why Pixel prices vary so much between models. Google’s own genuine display for a Pixel 10 and for a Pixel 10 Pro are separated by around ninety US dollars before anyone has touched the phone. A shop quoting the same figure for both is not looking at your model.

We are an independent shop, not a Google authorised repair provider, and we will say that plainly. What we offer is a free inspection, a written price before any work starts, and a number you are welcome to go and check.

Pixel faults we see most often

Cracked OLED displays and dead touch areas

Pixel screens are OLED, so an impact can leave the glass looking almost intact while touch stops responding in one area or a dark patch starts spreading. That is the panel rather than the glass, and it does not recover.

We test touch response and colour across the whole surface before recommending anything.

Battery drain on Pixel 6 and 7 generation phones

Phones from those generations are now three or four years old, which is exactly when lithium cells start dropping off noticeably.

A Pixel that reaches lunchtime and gives up is behaving normally rather than failing, and it is one of the cheapest and fastest repairs we do.

Running hot and slowing down

Pixels use Google’s own Tensor chip, and heat complaints are common enough on these phones that people assume the worst.

Often it is a background process or a recent update settling in rather than hardware. We check that before opening anything, because software costs you nothing to rule out.

Charging ports that only work at one angle

Usually compacted lint rather than a failed port, and clearing that takes minutes. If the port itself is worn we replace it.

Either way we check for debris first, because it saves an unnecessary repair often enough to be worth doing.

Camera and fingerprint sensor faults

Blurry photos, a camera app that will not open, or a fingerprint reader that has stopped recognising you.

Pixels have several camera modules and usually only one fails, so we test each separately rather than replacing the whole assembly.

Liquid damage

The damage is corrosion rather than water, and it keeps spreading after the phone feels dry. Leave it off, do not charge it, and bring it in.

Nobody can promise an outcome before opening the device and we will not pretend otherwise.

Google service or an independent shop?

Worth being direct. Gadget Ali is an independent repair shop, not a Google authorised repair provider. Each option is right in different situations.

Go through Google if the phone is under warranty

If the device is still covered and the fault is not accidental damage, start there. The same applies if you have Pixel Care+, where the service fee is usually lower than any out of warranty repair.

Independent makes more sense out of warranty

Once coverage has expired, the comparison changes. Official routes often mean booking or shipping the phone away, so you are without it for days rather than hours. Walking in removes the shipping entirely.

Repair history narrows your official options

A Pixel that has been opened before is often turned away by authorised service. We do not turn those away, though we inspect the previous work before quoting.

What you get here either way

2 walk-in shops with no appointment, a free inspection, a written price before any work starts, and a thirty day warranty on parts and labour for eligible repairs. If we find something else once the phone is open, you get a call and a revised number rather than a surprise at pickup.

Google Phone Repair FAQs

Are you a Google authorised repair provider?

No. Gadget Ali is an independent repair shop. If your Pixel is still under warranty or covered by Pixel Care+ and the fault is not accidental damage, go through Google first and we will tell you so. Out of warranty, an independent shop is usually faster and cheaper for the same repair.

How much does a Pixel screen replacement cost?

It depends on the model more than on anything else. A series screens start from $149, standard Pixel models from $199, and Pro and Pro XL models from $279. Fold inner screens are quoted after inspection. You get an exact figure after a free inspection.

Can I check whether a Pixel repair quote is fair?

Yes, and Pixel is the only brand where you really can. Google publishes what its genuine parts cost through its parts programme, so you can look up the display or battery price for your exact model and use it as a reference point.

Which Pixel models do you repair?

Pixel 11 back through Pixel 4, including the a series, the Pro models and the Fold generations, subject to parts availability. Parts for current models are usually on hand and older devices we confirm before you come in.

Do you repair Pixel Fold models?

Foldables are a different job from a standard screen, with an inner panel, an outer display and a hinge that can each fail on their own. Parts are not always on hand, so call ahead before travelling with one.

My Pixel screen looks fine but touch has stopped working. Why?

That is common on OLED phones. The panel can be damaged internally by an impact while the outer glass stays intact, so the touch layer fails without any visible crack. It is still a display repair.

My Pixel runs hot. Is that a hardware fault?

Often not. Heat and slowdowns after an update are usually a background process settling rather than failing hardware, and that costs nothing to rule out. If it persists on a cool, freshly restarted phone, then it is worth inspecting.

Is it worth repairing an older Pixel?

Depends on how long it still receives updates. Recent Pixel generations carry seven year commitments, which makes a repair easy to justify. On a Pixel 6 or 6a, where support is running out, a large repair is worth thinking about more carefully.

Do you repair Pixel Watch or Pixel Tablet?

Yes, though both are covered separately. Pixel Watch is on our smartwatch repair page and Pixel Tablet is on our tablet repair page.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Both shops take walk-ins during business hours. Calling ahead only helps for a Fold or a very recently released model, where confirming the part saves you a trip.
