Three things, and none of them is how busy we are.
The first is what actually broke. A cracked display and a phone that took a swim are not the same kind of job, and they never will be.
The second is your exact model. Parts for phones that have been out a couple of years sit on our shelf. Parts for something that launched last month often do not exist in the aftermarket yet, no matter which shop you walk into.
The third is when you arrive. Show up with most of the day still ahead and there is room to work. Show up close to closing and there may not be.
You hear which way it is going after the inspection and before you agree to anything. If we cannot finish it today, we say so first, not after the phone is already open.

Our Richmond shop on No. 3 Rd keeps the later hours of the two and stays open into the evening six days a week, which makes it the one to pick if you are only free after work. Our North Vancouver shop on Marine Dr closes earlier in the evening, so a morning or early afternoon visit gives a same-day repair the most room to happen. Yes. Both shops open on Sunday, with shorter hours than the rest of the week.
That makes the same-day window tighter than it is on a weekday, so arriving earlier matters more. Everything else works exactly the same way. Free inspection, a price before any work starts, and an honest answer on whether it finishes today.
If the phone died on a Saturday night and you need it working on Monday, Sunday is the day to come in rather than waiting it out.
Three things, mostly.
Liquid damage is a cleaning and testing process rather than a part swap, and it is not something worth rushing. We will look at it the day you bring it in and be straight with you about the timeline.
A part that is not on the shelf. Uncommon models, unusual back glass colours and very recent releases are the usual culprits. We give you the lead time instead of keeping the phone while we wait for a box to arrive.
Damage sitting underneath the obvious damage. Describe what the phone is doing rather than what you think is wrong with it. Whether it is the glass or the panel, the battery or the port, is our job to work out, and we would rather work it out from symptoms than from a guess.

Eligible repairs come with a 30 day warranty on parts and labour. If the same fault comes back and it is on our end, we sort it out.
No. Both shops take walk-ins during business hours. Calling ahead only helps if your model is uncommon or very new and you want the part confirmed before you travel.
For common repairs on common models, usually. The honest answer depends on your exact model and what is actually wrong, which is why the fastest way to find out is to call the shop with both pieces of information.

You find out at the inspection, before you approve anything. If a part has to be ordered, we give you the lead time so you can decide whether to leave the phone with us or come back for it.
We can inspect it the same day and tell you what we are looking at. The service itself takes longer, because corrosion has to be cleaned properly and the board tested over time. Rushing that is how a phone comes back a week later.
